FOG HOLLER at Wrangletown Cider & North Story Wines. Ruby Ruth George Opening.

We are so very excited to welcome Fog Holler on April 12th at 8pm. Local songwriter and performer, Ruby Ruth George will be opening.
Fog Holler is a bluegrass band from Portland with an edge. What gives them that edge is a topic of hot debate. For some, it’s musicianship - these bluegrass cats shred. For others, it’s the songwriting, traditional in style but topical in substance. Sometimes, they undeniably snare people with the squad factor - folks see 4 grown adults in matching monochrome, and they get curious. They write and play bluegrass in 2024, with similar intention but very different context from the genre’s originators. Inspired by a range of influences from The Stanley Brothers to Buck Owens to Meshuggah, Fog Holler breathes fresh life into well worn forms like the murder ballad and the power waltz. Described by two-time Grammy Award Winner Cathy Fink as “The next generation of the many shades of grass”, Fog Holler’s captivating tunes and coordinated outfits are quickly enthralling longtime bluegrass fans and newcomers alike. Tickets are available online at the link below and at the door. $18 cover. All ages.

LOVE, DEAN at Wrangletown Cider

Saturday, March 16th at 8pm, We are thrilled to welcome Love, DEAN.

Musicians, singer-songwriters, and husband and wife, Rachael and Luke Price, are bringing back the feel-good vibes of classic Americana. On Love, DEAN’s self-titled debut, they’ve handcrafted a musical mosaic from vintage soul, Motown, old-time music, gospel, folk, and neo-soul. The self-titled album is themed around love and community, and coming of age milestones. It’s vibrant, personal, and it’s for everyone.

“This album is a love letter from us to anyone who listens. We're hoping the listener feels let into our lives; that they can see value in music; value in people; and that they feel inspired to grow in their own lives and relationships. We leave space for grief, hardship and honesty but our target is encouragement and positivity in the midst of struggles,” Rachael says.

Rachael and Luke first met as Berklee College of Music students on the very first day of school. Rachael’s artistic perspective encompasses soul, gospel, and Americana. Luke is an accomplished fiddler steeped in old-time music, bluegrass, swing, and honky-tonk. From these varied backgrounds, the twosome nurtured a soul-pop aesthetic. “We want to connect with people, but we also like to keep things musically interesting. For example, there may be a section in 7, or a strange horn line or a complex drum fill or passage, but we never like these touches to take away from the song” Luke says. “We strive for something that feels familiar but has unexpected twists.”

Tickets $20 in advance. $25 at the door. Tickets available online and at Wildberries Marketplace (beginning Feb. 23rd).

The Black Feathers at North Story Wines and Wrangletown Cider

Wrangletown Cider and North Story wines are happy to host The Black Feathers, made up of Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler first became aware of the magic  between them while collaborating on several musical projects, becoming The Black Feathers and life  partners in 2012.

Americana, Folk, and Acoustic Indie Rock sensibilities coexist comfortably in their musical world, with  Hughes’ guitar work buoying the kind of harmonies often only heard in family bands. Their music  quickly draws the interest of listeners, but it is the stage chemistry that will keep them riveted.

The Black Feathers have been spreading their wings across the US and have performed at  Philadelphia Folk Festival, AmericanaFest, Juan de Fuca Festival, The Kate Wolf Festival and  Mile of Music. They return to the West Coast for limited run of intimate performances in the Fall.

It's been a while since they last visited the Golden Coast, and with "Angel Dust & Cyanide" released  8.2022 and their new album, "Where We Are", released in Sept 2023 they have plenty of new tunes  and stories to share with the audience.   Tickets available online

Bobby Alu at Wrangletown Cider and North Story Wines

We are beyond thrilled to welcome @bobby_alu on August 26th at 7pm.
"Move. And be moved. Find your flow and go about each day to the rhythm of your own making.
That’s the theme for Byron Bay singer, ukulele strummer and drummer Bobby Alu. It’s been a long-time personal and musical mission for the tropical ambassador, too.
Amidst smooth harmonies, rhythms inspired by a strong family lineage of Polynesian performance, and unassuming grooves that work a gradual, smile-inducing high through even a casual listener, Bobby Alu tunes have a way of sneaking into the subconscious and taking up residence. Every now and then, one will pop up as a toe-tapping reminder to take it slow, enjoy the ride. It’s the curator of calm’s way – deliver island-time vibes with gentle optimism rather than forceful instruction, and encourage the type of reflection best achieved in a hammock. A band that grooves like Withers, moves like Marley, charms like Harper but is smooth like Fat Freddys."
Suggested ticket price $25.00.
Manzanilla Kitchen will be parked at the winery at 7:30 to offer their delights for purchase! Wine, Cider and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase.
